Gig Report Britons Protection 16th July

It started with a panic, People were queuing up all the way down the stairs, so the tables had to come out and replaced with about 8 rows of chairs, I had that feeling is the room big enough but that's sods law book a small room and loads turn up, book a bigger venue and guess what it's half empty, there was standing room only at the back with all the side seating now taken up basically it was packed.I went on about 8-30 and ye It felt good I have never played to so many people, I was under no illusions I knew that the vast majority had come to see Lee Griffiths,People had come from Devon, Nottingham, and Bournmouth, but I think I made a few new mates along the way, I played the longest set I have ever done about 70 min and I really enjoyed it, My new stuff seemed to go down well I got asked if Urban Splash is on the Canadian geese album and it was nice to be able to say no it will be on the next one, The Britons Protection is a great venue however it is not the easiest place to get a pint, they have a serving hatch like the one in our masionette, but once I had come off I was gagging for a Guinness so it was two at a time, Lee was superb he just blew the place away, with some of his new songs that are going to be massive, this was a night where chalk and cheese came together and it worked, we both said that "We had them tonight"
and the audience went home happy and a good night was had by all.
